Treat Yourself! Mental Wellness Check

Here are some activities that I enjoy doing by myself! It is so important to take time out of our busy schedules for ourselves.


I have to admit that I am definitely a workaholic! I find it difficult to take time out of my day to do something for myself. My therapist gave me the challenge to do something every week, which is meant to be realistic for me. Now, if I'm being honest I've been doing it once a month! Ekk I just forget, but this post has reminded me that I need to make this a priority. It depends on my mood but I prefer doing things with my family and friends and catching up with them. But it's not the same as giving yourself some TLC!





Buy yourself some flowers


So I have found my favourite flower which is called a Snapdragon. The white ones are my favourite they represent courage and grace! I mean how lovely is that meaning! As I was grocery shopping I spotted some so I added them to my cart, and wow they made my room so fragrant. I also didn't want to be basic and just have roses as my favourite flower anymore haha! Not hating those who love roses.











Take a relaxing bath


I barely take a bath, I'm usually so tired at night that I want something quick and convenient. I had time one night and it was nice to relax in the hot steaming water. Light a candle, set the mood and I threw in some dried rose petals. I've actually bought some bath salts for the next time I take a bath. If you are a water baby, like I am the bath is such a nice recharge. I honestly felt so rejuvenated once I hopped out.











Spend time in nature


I love being out in nature when I can, especially being near the ocean. I went down to the local beach near my work, I bought myself a hot choccy and just soaked up some sun. I also was writing a post for the blog and found the words just pouring through my fingertips. I feel it is important to find your happy place.











Pick up a hobby


I do enjoy baking as a hobby other than dancing! My friend made these delicious lemon menagerie pies but mini form. And they were just so yum I had to experiment and make a cupcake version. Let me tell you these were gone in one night! Comment below if you want the recipe.









I hope this helps some of you! It is so important to take time out of the day for your own mental wellness. Whether that is exercising, cooking, eating, napping, reading or whatever makes you happy. You know yourself the best, so do what is best for your body and mind. Arohanui Tiara x
